MyKingstonKids Volunteer Agreement and Code of Conduct
Introduction
Thank you for choosing to volunteer with MyKingstonKids. Our volunteers are essential in creating safe, imaginative and meaningful experiences for children and families across Kingston and the Hudson Valley.
By participating as a volunteer you agree to the expectations and responsibilities outlined below.
1. Volunteer Agreement
Purpose of Volunteering
I understand that I am offering my time and talent as a volunteer to support MyKingstonKids events, programs and community initiatives. I agree that I am not an employee of MyKingstonKids and will not receive wages or employment benefits for my service.
Commitment
I agree to arrive on time for my scheduled shift, notify a team member if I cannot attend, participate in required orientations, complete assigned tasks and represent MyKingstonKids with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Confidentiality
I will respect the privacy of children, families, sponsors and volunteers. I will not share personal information, photographs or conversations without permission.
Media and Photography Release
I give MyKingstonKids permission to use photos or video of me for promotional or educational purposes unless I notify the event lead otherwise.
Safety Requirements
I agree to follow all safety instructions, identify hazards, report concerns, and support sensory safe practices.
2. Volunteer Code of Conduct
Respect and Professionalism
I will treat children, families, staff and volunteers with respect, kindness and patience.
Youth Protection
I will never be alone one on one with a child, will report concerning behavior, maintain appropriate boundaries and support safety guidelines.
Inclusivity
I will help create a welcoming environment for all families regardless of background, culture or identity.
Substance Free Environment
I will not use or possess alcohol, cannabis or illegal substances while volunteering.
Harassment and Discrimination
I will not engage in bullying, hate speech, harassment or discriminatory behavior of any kind.
Technology and Social Media
I will avoid excessive phone use while volunteering and will not post photos of children without permission.
Property and Equipment
I will respect all MyKingstonKids supplies, materials and equipment.
3. Volunteer Responsibilities
Examples include event setup, registration support, assisting youth activities, managing stations, cleanup and supporting sensory safe zones.
4. Removal or Dismissal
MyKingstonKids reserves the right to remove a volunteer for unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
